PM Dancila meets Jordan's ForMin Safadi and highlights interest to develop relations in several areas

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila welcomed on Wednesday at the Victoria Palace Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Ayman Safadi, occasion on which she highlighted the interest to further develop the relations in areas such as agriculture, tourism, healthcare, education and energy.

According to a release of the Government, during the meeting, the two high officials voiced their satisfaction for the very good level of the political-diplomatic relations and agreed on the need to identify the best tools and means to bring economic and sectorial cooperation at the said level.

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila reconfirmed the importance that Romania's Government gives to the development of the collaboration relations with the Arab states, pointing out also "the interest for a constant political-diplomatic dialogue at high level."

"In respect to strengthening the economic and sectorial cooperation, the Romanian dignitary stressed the interest to further develop the relations in areas such as agriculture, tourism, healthcare, education and energy, but also to identify new areas of shared interest," the release shows.

The meeting also occasioned an exchange of views in respect to the regional and international agenda.

"Prime Minister Viorica Dancila presented the priorities of the Romanian Presidency at the Council of the European Union, underscoring that our country's first time exercise at the rotating presidency of the EU Council represents a moment of special importance and an opportunity for Romania to reconfirm its commitment in favour of strengthening the European project. The Romanian official showed that, during this mandate, Romania will act in view of coagulating the consensus at the EU level on important topics of foreign affairs policy, including in terms of the Southern Neighborhood of the Union, context in which she hailed the very good level reached by the cooperation relations between the EU and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan," according to the release.

The two officials also tackled the latest developments of the Middle East region, with an emphasis on the conflict in Syria and the Middle East Peace Process, the quoted source mentions.
